Warranty Information

ARAI’S 5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

All serviceable Arai helmets are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 5 years after first purchase, but no more than 7 years from the date of manufacture. Based on the recommendations of the Snell Memorial Foundation (www.smf.org), all Arai helmets should be replaced within 5 years of first use.

An Arai helmet is serviceable, and thus subject to this warranty, only if the helmet is: (1) within 5 years of first purchase or 7 years of date of manufacture; (2) legal in market (certified under US Department of Transportation regulation and Snell standard, or certified under Snell and/or FIA standards only for Arai GP auto and kart racing helmet products); (3) contains a Snell and/or FIA certification label that has not been defaced and remains intact; (4) undamaged; (5) not stolen and/or not counterfeit; (6) not modified; and (7) properly fitted for the user.

This warranty does not include Arai helmets or Arai helmet parts damaged or rendered not serviceable due to accident, misuse, abuse, modification, improper repair, water damage, heat damage, neglect, improper handling or storage, or failure to properly follow instructions.

Any modification (excluding repairs) made by you or a third party will render the warranty null and void. Any removal, defacement, or tampering of the Snell certification serial number and or FIA certification sticker will render this warranty null and void.

At the sole discretion of Arai, any Arai helmet or Arai helmet part found by Arai or its authorized agents (1) to be defective in materials and/or workmanship, and (2) to be serviceable for properly fitted use within 5 years of the date of the helmet’s or part’s purchase, but no more than 7 years from the date of the helmet’s or part’s manufacture, will be repaired or replaced, free of charge to the original purchaser, when returned freight prepaid by you to the address provided by Arai. Repair or replacement as provided herein is the exclusive remedy for this warranty.

Arai has the right to request information from you to establish that the helmet meets the above serviceability requirements, including, but not limited to, proof of purchase.

This warranty excludes (1) normal wear and tear to painted surfaces; (2) abnormal treatment or abuse to the helmet interior; and (3) chips, scratches, abrasions, or other incidental damage to the helmet’s outer shell, painted surfaces, or face shield caused by contact with another surface or object.

This warranty and the limitations set forth herein are in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. Any warranties implied by law shall not extend beyond the duration of this express warranty.

Arai shall not in any event be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind arising out of or related to the purchase or use of any Arai helmet or Arai helmet part, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise.

Failure to complete and return the warranty registration card does not diminish your warranty rights. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, or to incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

EVEN A HELMET AS GOOD AS AN ARAI WON’T LAST FOREVER

Like most major helmet manufacturers, Arai subscribes to the Snell Memorial Foundation benchmark of five years as the suggested usable lifespan of a motorcycle helmet. Why? Think of a helmet in terms of your body. No matter how good it may look, or how well you take care of it, age still takes its toll. Even with minimal use, a helmet is affected by things like the acids and oils in sweat, haircare products, cleaners, polishes, pollution, exposure to UV rays, etc. At about the five-year mark, helmet interiors begin to show wear and/or deterioration, which should serve as an alert to its overall condition. The helmet’s fit may begin to feel a little “loose,” not as snug as it once did. This, as well as unseen aging and deterioration of the EPS liner and fiberglass shell can affect the helmet’s ability to perform as it was originally designed in an impact. If a helmet suffers an impact and any doubt exists as to its further ability to protect, it should either be returned to the manufacturer for competent inspection or discarded and replaced.

*Note: Arai Americas only stocks parts for helmets designed, built and sold within the US & Canadian markets. Therefore, parts for helmets not sold in the US & Canada are not available. Additionally, as helmets from outside the US & Canada were not designed or certified to US DOT requirements, we cannot provide any service (either paid or under warranty) as Arai cannot endorse the continued use of non-DOT compliant helmets. Helmets can only be registered with Arai Americas using a US or Canadian address. Helmets can only be supported (either paid or under warranty) by Arai Americas using a US or Canadian address.
